May 26, 2021, IIT Bay Area Alumni (IIT-BAA) association announces the addition of two new Board of Directors to the team. The newly appointed Board Members are Suparna Kumar and Dipty Desai. Both Suparna and Dipty are joining IIT Bay Area's Board as Director-at-Large

 

Suparna Kumar [in] (IIT Kanpur, 1993) will serve the team as the Director-at-Large of IIT-BAA. 

Suparna is experienced engineering leader with a demonstrated history of working with large-scale distributed systems, IoT, and Big Data and scaling high-performing teams to new heights. She has held multiple engineering leadership roles in industry, most recently at Celona and prior to that at Cisco. She has been contributing to IIT Startup as a mentor. She is also the founding member of FirstBoard.io, an initiative to increase women representation on corporate boards of technology companies. Suparna joins IIT Bay Area Alumni Association board as Director-at-Large. She will be working with team on various initiatives on technology and social impact.

 

Dipty Desai [in]  will serve the team as the Director-at-Large of IIT-BAA.

Dipty is an expert in high impact healthcare solutions utilizing technology and innovation to transform and save lives. She has been involved in executing strategies for effective cross-border growth across sectors including healthcare. Dipty has held multiple leadership roles across organizations driving massive business and community efforts. She is the head, west coast at USISPF,  Venture Partner at Elevate.vc, co-chair at TiE Global Health and most recently convener at TiECon 2021. Dipty joins IIT Bay Area Alumni Association board as Director-at-Large. She will be working with team on multiple fronts including sponsorship, community building and driving meaningful coordination at broader level.
